One MAJOR change is that the requirement for a cat 5 to 4 upgrade now requires the rider to FINISH in 10 mass start races, rather than just compete in the race.
Before entering races and expecting to receive upgrade credit, ask the promoter whether they will be recording and reporting ALL finishers. If not, you will have a difficult time proving to USAC that you finished in the required 10 mass start races.
As previously announced, we are purchasing new equipment to assist with our finish line procedures which will enable us to capture and report all finishers in our C field races. To read more about this and other exciting additions to the 2012 season please see our announcement on January 5.
