CRCA Family,
We consider the health and safety of our racers, staff, and volunteers our highest priority.
With the seemingly rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our region, we are continually monitoring the evolving situation, and any impact it might have on our events. Should we be required to cancel any event (race, coaching session, or off-bike activity), we will contact members via the email address associated with your membership (or bikereg account for non-members) and/or post announcements here on crca.net, Facebook and Instagram.
We are currently planning to proceed with our full racing, coaching and events calendar - we have not received any recommendation to the contrary from any of our venue partners, permitting or health agencies. Still, we urge everyone to follow NYC Department of Health and CDC issued COVID-19 Guidance.
Please follow all appropriate health guidelines, and only come out to race, or any CRCA event, if you are feeling well enough to do so. If you are unable to fulfill an assigned volunteer role, please contact the appropriate CRCA Board member as soon as you are able so that we can work with you to make alternate arrangements.
Below are some recommendations on how to prevent the spread of infectious illnesses, and some proper etiquette when racing/riding in a group:
Stay home when you are sick.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your arm, rather than in your hands.
Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, including your cell phone.
Clear your nose away from fellow cyclists.
Avoid sharing bottles, and dispose of gel packs, used tissues and other personal items in the proper receptacle.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all try to work together to protect the health and safety of all our racers, staff, and volunteers.
