While the Lucarelli & Castaldi CRCA Club Series is on break the CRCA competition standings saw a big shake-up with double points on offer this past weekend at the CRCA Zach Koop Memorial Criterium at Orchard Beach. However there is still much to be decided before the next CRCA Club Series race on May 19th: double points are on offer again at this weekend's CRCA Bear Mountain Classic where the climbers may be able to win back control of the leaders jerseys and perhaps take home a Road Race State Championship Jersey in the Process.

Jim Boyd Cup
In the Women's Jim Boyd Cup standings Kristen Faulkner took advantage of double points at the Zach Koop Memorial Criterium to build a commanding lead with 41 points as we approach the mid-way point in the Series. Rounding out the top three in the standings are Sara Sjoman and Caryl Gale with 25 and 23 points. Of course with double points on offer again at the Bear Mountain Classic this weekend these standings could see a big shake up. There are a plethora of riders still in the mix including Stephanie Thompson, Lisa Vandivort, Fabienne Gerard, Erica Adelberg, and Lucia Deng all with between 15 and 19 points.
On the Men's side Allan Rego's win at the Zach Koop Memorial Criterium tacked on 20 points to his prior tally but it wasn't enough to put him in the leader's jersey as Stalin Quiterio scored 10 points at Orchard Beach to retain a slim 3 point lead, 43 points to 40 points. But with Allan registered for the Bear Mountain Classic this weekend and another 20 points on offer to the top CRCA finisher in that race the leader's jersey could certainly be changing hands this weekend. The third place rider in the Men's Jim Boyd Cup standings, Victor Gras, is also close enough with 35 points to move into the lead this weekend. Bear Mountain will be an exciting and important race in determining the ultimate winner of the Men's Jim Boyd Cup!
Team Cup
In the Team Cup competitions two teams have built big leads in the standings. On the Women's side Dave Jordan Racing scored a massive 34 points at the Zach Koop Memorial to give themselves a big lead over CityMD Racing and Radical Media at 72 points, 44 points and 35 points respectively. On the Men's side Jamison Capital-Cannondale scored the same 34 points at Orchard Beach to build an even larger lead over the competition with 88 points compared to Dave Jordan Racing and Rockstar Games Racing at 43 points and 42 points respectively. We'll have to see how double points at the Bear Mountain Classic changes these standings but it seems that the two leaders in the Team Cup Competitions are safe for now.
B-Field Competitions
In the B-Field Series Leader competition Conor Delanbanque last scored points on March 24th but his early season success remains sufficient to keep him in the lead with 37 points. But there are a load of chasers that are quickly closing including Romain Leidelinger who scored 20 points at the Zach Koop Memorial giving him 25 total and Jonathan Trevett who didn't score points at Orchard Beach but remains close in the standings at 24 points. The big points on offer at the Bear Mountain Classic will almost certainly change these standings.
In the team competition Good Guys Racing remain the far and away leaders with 72 points - the closest team trails that figure by more than half. NYCC Racing and Rapha Cycling Club are the closest with 35 points and 31 points respectively while RBNY Racing is a touch further behind with 29 points followed by Team Patch and To Be Determined. While one of the chasers could score a maximum of 34 points at the Bear Mountain Classic it won't be enough to take the lead in the B-Field Team Competition... for now.
