CRCA Series Standings after the Bear Mountain Classic

With the Lucarelli & Castaldi CRCA Club Series set to return this weekend the CRCA competition standings saw a big shake-up with double points on offer the past two weeks at the CRCA Zach Koop Memorial Criterium at Orchard Beach and the Bear Mountain Classic. As a result we have some leadership changes to report.

Full standings are always available here: Results & Standings while the rules for the various competitions are available here: Jim Boyd & Team Cup. If you want to participate in any of these competitions make sure to Join CRCA!

Jim Boyd Cup

In the Women's Jim Boyd Cup standings leader Kristen Faulkner missed out on scoring points at the Bear Mountain Classic while Erica Adelberg took home the maximum 20 points to close within 4 points of Kristen 41-37. With a good result at this weekend's Lucarelli & Castaldi CRCA Club Series race Erica could easily take the lead. Sarah Sauvayre also took advantage of Bear Mountain to move way up in the standings, now sitting in fifth place at 22 points. All other chasers including Sara Sjoman, Caryl Gale, Stephanie Thompson, and Lisa Vandivort scored no points at Bear Mountain and retained their prior totals.

On the Men's side we say our first lead change in several weeks as Allan Rego added to the 20 points scored with his win at the Zach Koop Memorial Criterium by being the top CRCA finisher at Bear Mountain for another 20 points. Those 40 points now give him a significant lead with 60 points ahead of former leader Stalin Quiterio at 43 points. Victor Gras also took advantage of Bear Mountain's double points to move just ahead of Stalin in the standings with 45 points. Mike Margarite also took home 14 points at Bear Mountain to move into fifth place in the standings just behind Scott Savory who still has 34 points. With the Jim Boyd Series moving back to Central Park and lots of double points upcoming at Dave Jordan / Lou Maltese / Mengoni Grand Prix it will be interesting to see if the chasers can close the gap or if Allan Rego will repeat as Jim Boyd Cup winner.

Team Cup

In the Men's Team Cup competition Jamison Capital - Cannondale continues to run away with the series following another big weekend at the Bear Mountain Classic. Jamison Capital - Cannondale now has 110 points in the competition with Rockstar trailing far behind with just 52 points followed by Foundation (44 points) and Dave Jordan Racing (43 points). In comparison on the Women's side the competition got a bit closer at Bear Mountain as Dave Jordan Racing scored zero points while Radical Media took home 20 points to close the gap to 72-55. CityMD Racing is in third with 44 points.

B-Field Competitions

In the B-Field Series Leader competition Conor Delanbanque came back to the scoreboard with another victory, giving him wins at Bear Mountain, Grant's Tomb, the 1st CRCA Club Series race and a 2nd at the second CRCA Club Series race for a massive total of 57 points. Romain Leidelinger in second with 25 points just ahead of a whole series of chasers including Jonathan Trevett, Michael Tan, and Henning Schober.

In the B-field Team Competition NYCC Racing scored the most points at Bear Mountain with 24 but that still leaves them trailing Good Guys Racing 92-59. In the battle for third there are a series of teams in the mix with Rapha Cycling Club, Team Patch.com, RBNY Racing-Verge Sport and To Be Determined all holding between 31 and 27 points.

Masters Field Competitions

In the Masters Field Series Leader competition things got a whole lot more interesting at the Bear Mountain Classic where Michael Sambrano scored 14 points to bring down Constantin Schreiber's lead to just 2 points, 40-38. With just three races left in the series including double points at the Fort Lee Criterium it looks likely to be a hard fought competition all the way to the end. Robert Lattanzi also got his name on the scoreboard at Bear Mountain with the maximum 20 points, slotting him in at third in the competition.
